VIA is a global awareness educational program aiming to inform and educate young pupils aged 10 to 18 about road safety. It was launched in 2019 by TotalEnergies Foundation in partnership with the Michelin Foundation and with pilot activities in France, Cameroon and India. It is currently being implemented in 35 countries. https://www.viaroadsafety.com/en
TotalEnergies EP Bulgaria started VIA in Bulgaria in cooperation with the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross. The program was implemented in 4 schools in Varna and Burgas. Thus 190 children, 10-12 years old, followed a series of modules with practical exercises and discussed topics about the road signs and the risks on the road. Instructors guided them through different topics concerning all road-users: pedestrians, cyclists, riders of scooters and passengers in cars.
We thank the Directors of the schools ("St. Kliment Ohridski”, “Patriarch Evtimii” (Varna) and “Lyuben Karavelov”, “Alexander Georgiev-Kodzhakafaliyata” (Burgas) for having welcomed and fostered the initiative.
A short video is available at the site of the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross - https://youth.redcross.bg/gallery
The program will be proposed to other schools and towns during the school year 2022-2023.

The partners in Block Han Asparuh support training for safety on the road in Varna and Burgas
Road safety and training of young people are priorities of TotalEnergies's solidarity and civic initiatives program, which aims to contribute to the development of communities and regions in which the Group operates.
The management of TotalEnergies EP Bulgaria, together with its partner OMV Petrom, decided to finance the construction of playgrounds for road safety training in 4 schools in Varna (Primary Schools “Stefan Karadja”, “Vasil Aprilov”, “Levski”, “K.Arabadjiev”). The playgrounds are ready and pupils already acquire practical skills for safe crossing and behavior on the road.
As part of the company's corporate social responsibility program, were also supported projects of Primary School “Lyuben Karavelov” in Burgas for a playground for road safety, for planting of saplings and for providing of traditional folk costumes for the school.
