What is Digital Accessibility?
An accessible website is one that enables all internet users to access its content without difficulty, including people with disabilities who use specialized software or hardware.
For example, an accessible website allows you to:

  • Navigate using screen readers or Braille displays (commonly used by blind or visually impaired users).
  • Customize the display of the website according to your needs (font enlargement, color changes, etc.).
  • Navigate without using a mouse, relying solely on a keyboard or a touch screen.
  • And more.

To achieve this, a website must comply with strict accessibility standards throughout its design, development and update processes.
Accessibility Declaration
TotalEnergies Marketing Bulgaria EOOD is committed to making its internet, intranet and extranet websites, as well as its software applications, accessible in accordance with Article 47 of French Law No. 2005-102 of 11 February 2005.
To this end, the following strategy and actions have been implemented:

Compliance Status
TotalEnergies Marketing Bulgaria EOOD, https://bg.totalenergies.com/ , is partially compliant with the General Accessibility Improvement Framework (RGAA), version 4.1, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Audit Results
The website https://bg.totalenergies.com/  has been developed using the TotalEnergies Website Factory, a platform that enables TotalEnergies to create multiple websites based on a common structure. All components that can be published through the Website Factory are available through a demonstrator website.
The Website Factory has undergone a comprehensive accessibility assessment. As a result, the structure of all websites developed using the Website Factory is considered to provide the same level of accessibility as the demonstrator.
Conducting a separate RGAA compliance audit for each of the 194 websites already created (and additional websites to be developed in the future) through the Website Factory would constitute a disproportionate burden.
Consequently, the RGAA compliance audit performed by Atalan was conducted on the demonstrator website, which serves as a representative example of a Website Factory website. The audit revealed that:

  • 76% of the RGAA version 4.1 criteria are compliant.

It should be noted that the audit did not include an assessment of the website’s editorial content (articles, news items, events, etc.).
To ensure a satisfactory level of accessibility for editorial content, TotalEnergies has implemented the following measures:

  • Verification that the editorial content management interface enables accessible content publication and includes accessible authoring assistance features.
  • Integration of all editorial accessibility requirements into the contribution guidelines provided to editorial teams.
  • Awareness-raising workshops on editorial accessibility.
  • Random audits of editorial content carried out by the Digital Accessibility Governance team on websites developed using the Website Factory, with notifications sent to website managers whenever inaccessible content is identified.

The following criteria were identified as non-compliant during the accessibility audit of the demonstrator website:

  1. 1.2 – Is each decorative image correctly ignored by assistive technologies?
  2. 2.1 – Does each frame have an appropriate frame title?
  3. 3.2 – On each web page, is the contrast between text color and background color sufficiently high (except in specific cases)?
  4. 3.3 – On each web page, are the colors used in interface components or informative graphical elements sufficiently contrasted (except in specific cases)?
  5. 7.1 – Where applicable, is each script compatible with assistive technologies?
  6. 7.3 – Can each script be operated using a keyboard and all pointing devices (except in specific cases)?
  7. 8.7 – On each web page, is every language change properly indicated in the source code (except in specific cases)?
  8. 8.9 – On each web page, are HTML tags used only for semantic purposes and not solely for presentation?
  9. 9.1 – On each web page, is information structured through the appropriate use of headings?
  10. 9.2 – On each web page, is the document structure consistent (except in specific cases)?
  11. 10.1 – Are style sheets used to control the presentation of information on the website?
  12. 10.10 – On each web page, is information conveyed by means other than shape, size or position alone?
  13. 11.9 – Is the label of each button in every form appropriate (except in specific cases)?
  14. 11.13 – Is form input configured to facilitate autofill using user information?
  15. 13.3 – On each web page, where required, does every downloadable document have an accessible version (except in specific cases)?

Exemptions Due to Disproportionate Burden

  • The correction of source code validation errors (criterion 8.2) has been assessed and considered a disproportionate burden in the current state of the platform.
  • The following components available within the Website Factory (please note that these components are not necessarily present on this website) were either not audited because they are rarely used, or were not remediate because the required correction would represent a disproportionate burden relative to their frequency of use:
    • Audio Blocking component (rarely used, non-functional)
    • Post Slider (rarely used, scheduled for removal)
    • Comparative Table (rarely used, planned to be redesigned)
    • Filterable List Page (disproportionate burden)
