Total E&P Bulgaria supported a renovation project at the University of Mining and Geology worth 75,000 euro

Total E&P Bulgaria and its partners in the Han Asparuh Exploration project, OMV and Repsol, have donated 75,000 euro to the University of Mining and Geology in Sofia for the renovation of 2 academic rooms and the purchase of IT equipment and software for geostatistics.

During the official ribbon cutting of the renovated facilities, Total was granted recognition as “Contributor of 2016” for its support in improving the students’ learning environment and giving them more opportunities for practical training.

“It is a great honour for us to accept the “Contributor of 2016” award. It has also been part of our mission to support talented Bulgarian students and give them the chance to improve their skills through the years. We are now confident that this modern computer lab, with specialised software, will help them to acquire more practical skills for a possible career in the oil and gas industry”, Mr Xavier Faugeras, General Manager of Total E&P Bulgaria, commented when accepting the recognition.
 
The donation ceremony was attended by Prof. PhD Lyuben Totev, Rector of the University of Mining and Geology, Deputy Rector for Research Assoc. Prof. Dr Pavel Pavlov, Assoc. Prof. Stefka Pristavova-Deputy Rector for International Cooperation and Projects, as well as other professors and students.
