Planète Energies, the educational initiative of Total for energy awareness, presented to pupils in schools in Varna

Total and its affiliates are committed to raising young generations’ awareness about the challenges of energy

Total E&P Bulgaria B.V.-Bulgaria branch has started an environmental awareness campaign in coastal schools with the help of the Directorate “Education and youth activities” of the Varna Municipality and of the Union of Bulgarian Black Sea Local Authorities. Four interventions were organised in Varna schools on the topic of energy. Interactive presentations, specially adapted for Bulgarian children, were given in the schools: “Kapitan Petko Voivoda”, “Geo Milev“, “Peyo Yavorov” and “Angel Kanchev”.

More than 140 pupils, aged 11-12, participated in those informative sessions at which representatives of the branch discussed with the audience the pros and cons of the various types of enegry as well as good practices for saving energy. “Planète Energies” brochures (with curious facts about energy, and tests and games that can be used at school or home) and other materials were distributed to the pupils.

Planète Energies is a platform in French and English and provides young people, their teachers, parents and anyone interested in energy issues with the keys to understanding all aspects of energy and related topics.

The project is planned to continue with presentations in other Black Sea municipalities.
